Stag planning tips
1. Work closely with the stag: this may sound obvious, but ultimately it's his party, so find out what he wants to do. He will also know more about the other people that are invited and this is important in helping you choose location and activities.
2. Set a date and a budget early: the easiest way to make sure you can get everyone there is to set a date fairly early with a budget that they can all manage. This way, you're in before that summer holiday is booked, and you've found out in plenty of time if anyone can't make it because it's half-term and they needs to look after the kids!
3. Don't offer too much choice: invariably, if you ask a group of 20 stags what they want to do on the stag weekend, you will get 20 different answers. But if you go to them telling them what you are intending to do, most people will be happy to go along. You may get some objections on the way, but stay firm if you believe it's right, you can't please all of the people all of the time!!
4. Book it early: the best locations get booked up because they're good. The earlier you book your package, the more likely you are to get the accommodation you want, the time slots you want and the activities you want! At Stagcroatia, our flexible refund policy means you can book on your best guess of numbers with a small deposit. All you then need to do is confirm numbers 30 days before you're due to arrive and if your numbers do drop at all, we don't charge you!
5. Stay firm on deadlines: there are generally one or two people that may not be able to get back to you in time to definitely confirm and pay. Be reasonable and honest, but don't bend too much to accommodate them because there can be charges for cancellations and why should you lose out? You've done all the hard work. Even at the eleventh hour, you may still be able to add them on if there is availability.
6. Enjoy it: When the stag weekend comes around, the last thing you want to do is stress about coordinating everybody. Lead by example and have the time of your life! All the hard work should be done in the preparation and the boys are big enough to look after themselves, so relax and enjoy!
